MARSS-K as a Voluntary organization entrenched in the year 2002 and is put-up in Bengaluru, Karnataka. With the aim to bring revolution by uplifting the downtrodden in the society, founding member Sr. Huligeshi registered the organisation by the name ‘Hari Giri (SC/ST) Seva Sangha Regd’ which was inaugurated by Dr. Subhash Bharani, IPS. From the year of incorporation it has dedicated itself to socio-economic development of exploited and downtrodden in the society. Viveka Rehabilitation and Residential Centre was started in the year 2002 in Harihar for child labours & slum dwellers. Initially the school had 47 children and till 2009, it has rehabilitated 5562 children and has brought them into the main stream. Along with this, MARSS-K started various Government projects in cooperation with departments.

“Dashamanotsav “(Decade) was to celebrated to year mark its ten years of existence and was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri . Jagadish Shettar in the year 2011 and chief Guests, Dr. Ramachandran, IPS, Police Commissioner, Hubli-Darwad, Sri. Baba Saheb L Jinalakar, Senior Justice, JMFC, Hubli, Sri. Narayan Jaratharghar, Mayor, HDMC, Sri. Veerabhadrappa M Halaharvi, MLA, Hubli-South, Sri. S S Rajni, Regional Officer, IGSSS, Bengaluru, Sri. Annayya, Senior Manager, Bank of Baroda, Sri. S S Patel, District Watershed Officer, Gadag. It has its successful journey working on women empowerment, comprehensive development of children, protection of Human rights, Integrated development activities, awareness programmes, formation of SHGs(Self Help Groups) , Child rights, child education, health inclusion, awareness about health & sanitation, implementation of government schemes, financial inclusion, imparting education and skill development training, employment generation activities, sustainable agriculture and watershed management, awareness about Forest Act, 3rd party inspection, etc. Presently it has its footprint in 10562 villages of 1920 Panchayats 12 districts such as Bangalore urban, Tumkur, Shimoga, Hassan Chitradurga, Davangere (in South Karnataka) and Dharwad, Haveri, Bellary, Uttara Kannada, Gadag, and Belgaum Districts (in North Karnataka). It has the experience of working on many government and non government projects and has empanelled with many government departments. It has instigated many projects with local and foreign aid with the key beneficiaries being rural and urban poor, slum dwellers, tribal people, rag- pickers, women, children, youth, widows, HIV+ people, sex workers etc. A small seed of MARSS-K which was sown in 2002 has grown into a big tree now, having three branches namely: Project monitoring unit, 3rd Party Inspection Division and Sri Vaishnavi College of Paramedical Science.

• MARSS-K is registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act of 1960 in the year 2002 bearing the Reg. No. AR-146 dated: 3rd May 2002 in Bangalore urban district.
• MARSS-K is a recognized by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under the FCRA. Reg. No. 09400023. Dated: 05.10.2006.
• MARSS-K is Certified organization under Section 12AA(a) of the Income Tax Act,1961. No. DIT(E)12A/Vol-III/M-668/W-2/2007-08 Date on 07th September 2007 and has approval under section 80G(5)(vi) of the Income Tax Act,1961 with Reg No. DIT (Exemption) BLR/80G(R)/700/AAAATH4943D/ITO(E)-2/Vol2009-10 as on date 04th December 2009 for the period 2010-2011 onwards.
• MARSS-K is registered under NGO-DARPAN of NITI Ayog- Government of India, Unique ID: KA/2018/0188837.
• MARSS-K is certified and empanelled as a 3rd party quality control Organization for Department of RDPR under MGNREGS (Government of Karnataka) since 2011.
• MARSS-K is certified empanelled organization in KSAPS (Karnataka State Aids Prevention Society) Bangalore Government of Karnataka since 2009.
• MARSS-K is the one of the Women and trafficking taskforce committee member, Department of Women and Child Development, Davangere District, Karnataka state since 2006.
• MARSS-K is one of the Technical Advising Committee Member of Directorate of Municipal Administration, GOK, Karnataka since 2011.
• MARSS-K is registered under Udyog Aadhar, Ministry of MSME.
• MARSS-K is empanelled as a study and research agency under Karnataka Evaluation Authority, GoK.
