History:
MARSS-K as an NGO started in 2002 by organizing rural poor women and formed women Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Bangalore Urban and Davanagere District. It initiated networking of SHGs and involved them in restoring their rights especially health, education and income. Later, started working with child rights and eradication of child labor system. Presently, it is working in 4590 villages of 625 Panchayats in 12 districts such as Tumkur, Haveri, Bangalore,Chitradurga Davangere, Dharwad, Bellary, Uttara Kannada, Gadag, Chikkamgalore, Hassan and Belagaum Districts for empowerment of rural and urban poor with focus on women and children. Now MARSS-K extended its activities to community health and education, children and women rights, empowerment of rural poor on Food Security Schemes especially PDS and employment under MGNREGA, women property rights and empowerment of Gram Sabhas and strengthening PRIs.
Our Organization is empanelled in Department of RDPER & MGNREGA –Government of Karnataka as Third Party Inspection squad and Separate wing is formed for the same. Under this our inspection Squad is trying to improve the qualities of the Works done by various agencies.

- MARSS-K Is a Recognized Organisation by Ministry of Home Affairs Governement of India under the FCRA. Reg.No. 09400023. Dated: 05.10.2006.
- MARSS-K is Certified orgnisation under Section 12AA(a) of the Income Tax Act.1961. No.DIT(E)12A/Vol-III/M-668/W-2/2007-08 Date on 07th September 2007. and Approvel Under Section 80G(5)(vi) of the Income Tax Act.1961, No. DIT(Examption) BLR/80G(R)/700/AAAATH4943D/ITO(E)-2/Vol2009-10. Date on 04th December 2009. For the period from the Assesment Year 2010-2011 onwards.
