1.Self Employment Training Programme and Vocational Training Institution for Un employed Youths:

India being the fastest growing economy in the world is facing the serious problem of poverty. One of the main reasons for poverty is unemployment. Government has taken several measures to reduce poverty by increasing employment opportunities but has trying hard to reach the target areas and target groups. In order to join hands with government in achieving its objectives, MARSS-K has come up with this programme on skill development and self employment.

This programme was instigated with the main aim to of providing ample of opportunities to the downtrodden and integrated development them in key areas like food security, education and health facilities, financial inclusion, psychological issues and psychic pressure faced by youth because of unemployment, social security by eliminating the social issues (like women and child trafficking, child marriage, gender bias etc). The key beneficiaries of this project were Rural, Urban, women, youth, students, and schedule caste and schedule tribes.

MARSS-K has come up with two consecutive approaches to tackle the above said problems: The first approach is been providing technical training, computer training, skill development training, capacity building programmes, personality training, vocational training for the youth to get equipped with the skills admissible by industries and get employed in the good companies and industries. In this regard, MARSS-K had setup ‘Sadana Tailoring and Vocational Training Centre’ in Harihar in the year 2003-04 which imparted training till 2016-17, Vocational Training Institution for Un employed Youths in Harihar Taluk , Davangere District from 2006-12, Computer Education Centre at Hoovina Hadagali and HB Halli Taluks in Bellary district and Harihar Taluk Davangere district.

KEONICS District IT Education and Training Centre in Hassan started in 2015-16 is providing IT skills and training are provided under NSDC, PMKVY. This centre is recognized as Testing Centre. This centre was been run by government since 20 years and was taken over by MARSS-K through tender called by government. It is a ‘Model KSS CSC’ at district level now. KEONICS, GoK gave the authority to MARSS-K to provide Trained SC/ST and physically challenged youths, the support to open CSCs all over the district. An independent district level committee is formed by MARSS-K for the regulation of this Centre.

MARSS-K is recognized as Vocational Training Provider (VTP) under Directorate of General employment and training, Ministry of employment and training (GoI), Karnataka Kaushalya Development Board, GoK. In coordination with, Manipal Academy survey was done man power was recruited for Royal arcade hotel Hospet and Shimoga cites in the year 2006.

National Career Service centre is setup in Tumkur by registering in NSC portal providing the career services block placements, Human resource management, man power supply etc. The second approach is skill development programmes, leadership programmes, technical training, training on financial inclusion; training on market strategy etc for youth who are interested in self employment and entrepreneurship.EDP (Entrepreneurs Development Programme) was conducted in Davangere city in Davangere district, Mundaragi Taluk in Gadag district in cooperation of Department of Industry and Commerce, GoK

2. Coaching for Aspirant candidates belonging to Vulnerable Groups:

Currently we have started Coaching Center at Tumkur City (District: Tumkur) for various competitive examinations namely ,Common Entrance Test (CET), Bank and Railway Recruitments, Karnataka Administrative Services (KAS) including Examinations which is conducted by Karnataka Public Service Examination (KPSC), Government of Karnataka and Staff Selection Commission, Government of India. During the year we have trained 670 candidates, majority of them are for CET, aspirants of Bank and Railway Recruitment, High school Teachers. We are also having Correspondence Courses in various disciplines and sending regular notes to External candidates for preparation of the examinations including IGNOU. MARSS-K is empanelled under Ministry of Employment and Training.

This has been registered under NCS (National Career Services Portal), Government of India. The trained students are been employed under NCS.
